The National Agency within the DAAD is in charge of the national implementation of the Erasmus+ programme in the field of higher cooperation. Its Erasmus+ report for the year 2018 looks back on a successful year.

The report provides information for the year 2018 based on the three key actions of the programme. The Key Action 1 on mobility recorded an increased funding of 25 million euros in Germany. The report further highlights the main achievements for the year 2018:

  • 45.000 students from Germany have completed an Erasmus+ stay
  • Since its launch in 1987, almost 1.3 million students went abroad with support of the programme
  • Over 350 universities across Germany are committed to Erasmus+

In the area of cooperation projects under key action 2, the NA DAAD focused on the evaluation, sustainability and impact of projects. This is particularly illustrated by the new programme line “European Universities“, on which the NA DAAD extensively advised.

With regard to the European funding line “forward-looking cooperation projects” in the area of policy support under key action 3, emphasis was increasingly placed on innovative educational technologies and the digital university.

In order to increase its reach, the NA DAAD has developed Youtube videos explaining Erasmus+. You find them with the hashtag #inanutshell (#kurzerklärt in German).
