Boosting the potential of joint degrees in Erasmus Mundus Master Programmes

On 30 November and 1 December, the first annual conference of the Erasmus Mundus Support Initiative (EMSI) took place in Brussels. EMSI is a tender project commissioned by the Executive Agency EACEA and the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) and implemented by NTT DATA together with ACA, the DAAD and Tipik 2023 to 2027.

The conference provided a platform for exchange on the added value that joint degrees offer students, higher education institutions and employers in Europe and beyond. Participants shared key experiences in awarding joint degrees, addressed stumbling blocks and identified mechanisms and best practices to address challenges at institutional, national and European level. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, exchange sessions and presentations of good practice, the conference provided an opportunity for participating Erasmus Mundus consortia and European and national stakeholders to engage in peer learning and expand their professional network. In addition, the conference launched the Erasmus Mundus Community Platform, which project consortia can now use to exchange and overview relevant events and publications.
