Discussions focused on the successes and benefits of SHARE and ERASMUS+ programmes for researchers, higher education institutions and students in both regions. Future EU-ASEAN cooperation in higher education and research was also explored in the context of wider strategic priorities such as the EU’s Global Gateway and ASEAN’s Connectivity Master Plan 2025, covering:
- citizenship education and employability
- the green transition
- digital connectivity
The event was organised ahead of the EU-ASEAN Commemorative Summit on 14 December in Brussels and will be held in hybrid modality – Brussels (in person) and Zoom (online).
