On 11.11.2020, the negotiators of the European Parliament and the Council reached a compromise on the future EU budget after months of negotiations. The now available package deal foresees 23,4 Billion € for the Erasmus+ programme.
Global on- and offline event
The global idea hackathon #DigiEduHack2020, hosted by the German EU Council Presidency, kicks off with the main stage event on 12-13 November in Berlin/ online.

The DAAD is tendering 8 interdisciplinary “Global Centres” to tackle global challenges. 4 centres are to be set up to conduct research into climate issues, another 4 for research into health and pandemic issues.
On 30 September, the European Commission presented its vision for the creation of a European Area of Education by 2025 and announced concrete measures to achieve it.

On 29 September, the EU Research Council reached a common position on the outstanding issues concerning both the draft regulation on Horizon Europe and the decision to implement the programme.
On 15 September, the European Parliament adopted its own-initiative report "Effective measures to green Erasmus+, the Creative Europe programme and the European Solidarity Corps".
