The Africa-Europe Science Collaboration Platform (AERAP) will host its 13th Annual Forum in Brussels from 20 to 22 April 2026, bringing together policymakers, researchers, investors, and international organisations to strengthen the strategic partnership between Africa and Europe through science, technology, and innovation.

Under the theme “Scientific Cooperation for a Shared Future,” AERAP will highlight how joint research and innovation can advance global goals, promote sustainable growth, and strengthen equitable partnerships between Africa and Europe.

The AERAP Forum 2026 will reaffirm science as a cornerstone of cooperation between Africa and Europe—by linking the EU’s “Global Gateway” initiative, “Horizon Europe,” and Agenda 2063 to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Brussels Office is participating in this year’s conference by organising a reception on 21 April in collaboration with the South African Embassy. Additionally, the Office is hosting a panel on 22 April focusing on talent mobility for Africa. Particular emphasis will be placed on the South Africa Presidential PhD Initiative and the EU-Africa Flagship Initiative on Youth Mobility.
